The Next Road provides information and news for travelers both present and future. Those of us in love with travel are always looking for the next road. We have our favorite roads and those we dream of taking. Our site will explore the usual and unusual with detailed information to make our travels richer. Join us on that journey.

We here at TheNextRoad.com enjoyed a special travel experience in 1996-1997 as our family toured the United States on an educational adventure. Border to border, coast to coast, we traveled over 25,000 miles. A unique aspect was that our children attended school via the Internet during the course of our journey and as part of our relationship with the charter school, Northwest Academy, we agreed to develop a website. It’s been around since before Google existed and called Blondins’ Assignment America.

We were not the first or the only ones traveling and documenting via the Web, but we were among them and our story was unique.

In 2009, we began a new adventure traveling the world without a home base, something we call slow travel. We’veĀ  enjoyed amazing travel experiences much of it documented here.

We look forward to dreaming and sharing the next road.
